Houghton --- Paul Andrew Parks of Houghton passed into his Father’s Heavenly Kingdom on February 9, 2025, after an extended illness. He was born on August 10, 1952, in Gowanda, a son of the late Howard and Isabelle Job Parks.
Paul was a graduate of Fillmore Central School and attended Houghton College, later graduating from SUNY Brockport. He worked at several small businesses in the Rochester/ Houghton general area.
Paul was a talented artist and painted a number of works, both large and small, in oil. He was also a talented musician, who played the guitar beautifully, and had a lovely singing voice. Another interest of his was photography, capturing many beauty spots near his home in Western New York. He also loved to fish, hike and hunt, often times with his brothers.
He attended several different churches, and later in life found peace, love and encouragement at the house church in the Dansville area, pastored by his friend, Hayden Humphrey, whom he’d met at Houghton College.
Surviving are his five siblings, Isobel “Peachy” Parks Murray of Washington, DC, Sandra Parks Blake of Hume, Dr. James Parks of Clermont, GA, Howard “Fred” Parks of Marietta, GA, Sara “Sally” Parks Johnson of Fillmore, Constance “Connie” Parks Smith of Fillmore and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three siblings, Elizabeth Parks Mosher, Dr. Norman Parks and Marilyn Hess.
A private burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Houghton. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
