Hornell --- Phillip Ray Volk of 131 Hornell Street and a former resident of Hume went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in St. James Hospital, Hornell. He was born on September 21, 1946, a son of the late Nathan and Jean Beardsley Volk.
Phil was a graduate of Fillmore Central School and a former hard-working employee of VanSlyke's Dairy Farm in East Koy.
Surviving are his sisters, Phyllis (Gary) Swackhamer of Hornell, Judy (Richard) Heers of Immokalee, Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald “Jerry” Volk and John “Jack” Volk.
Family and friends may gather from 10:30 am to 11:00 am on Friday, January 23, 2026, in the Hume Baptist Church, 10851 Claybed Road, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Rev. Richard Heers, Phil’s brother-in-law and Pastor Joel Stroud will co-officiate. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
