Richard L. Wendland

Fillmore --- Richard L. Wendland, a former resident of Fillmore, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 with his son by his side. He was born on October 28, 1929 in Cuba, a son of the late Gardie and Edna Wills Wendland. In 1992 he married Ruth E. Steadman who predeceased him on June 9, 2012.

Richard was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He loved horses, was actively involved in 4-H and enjoyed wood working.

Surviving are his children, Kevin (Barbara) Wendland of Fillmore, Brenda Wendland of Dade City, Florida three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Cockle on May 1, 2021.

A private graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.
