Wellsville --- Roger L. James of 4192 Bolivar Road died Monday, July 27, 2015 in the Wellsville Manor Care Center.  He was born on July 13, 1945 in Wellsville, a son of the late Francis and Crystal Harris James.

Roger was a graduate of Nunda Central School. He loved to read, research military history and watch football. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1965 to 1984.

Surviving is a son, Robert (Jennifer) James of Rochester, one grandchild, a brother Todd James of Byron, a sister Michelle (Rodney) Swain of Canaseraga, an aunt who helped raise him, Lillian Carpenter and two nephews, Travis and Jess Rawleigh.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Judy James and his step-mother, Veronica James.

Family and friends may gather from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Tract Cemetery. Fr. John Cullen, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Canaseraga will officiate. Burial will be in Short Tract Cemetery, Short Tract.
