Shirley M. (Wendland) Cockle

Fillmore---Shirley M. Cockle of 10420 Ballard Road died Saturday, May 1, 2021 in Clinton, Maryland. She was born on February 15, 1933 in Wellsville a daughter of the late Gardie and Edna Wills Wendland.  On May 30, 1959 in Hume she married Roy “June” N. Cockle who predeceased her on November 4, 2005.

Shirley was a graduate of Fillmore Central School and a former housekeeping supervisor at the Houghton Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, playing cards but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Surviving are two sons, Merle (Denise) Miller of Clinton, Maryland and Roger Miller of Fillmore, six beloved grandchildren, Marvin Mitchell, Kymberlee (Eric) Fender, Kathryn (Tymon) Swain, Christopher (Donna) Miller, Jonathan (Brandy) Miller, Jason (Ami) Miller, many beloved great-grandchildren, a brother, Richard Wendland of Warsaw, a sister-in-law, Olive “Polly” Miller of Hume and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore.
