Stella P. Smith

Louisburg, NC --- Stella P. Smith of Louisburg, NC and former resident of Fillmore, N.Y.  died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Franklin Oaks Nursing Home, Louisburg, NC.  She was born on January 30, 1922 in Fillmore, N.Y.  a daughter of the late Emra and Olive Acquard Preston. She married Robert “Bob” A. Smith who predeceased her in 2005.

Surviving are a daughter, Ellen (Leroy) Buchanan of Youngsville, a son, Richard R. Smith of Green Cove Springs, FL, 6-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, a sister, Martha (Edwin) Bower of Fillmore, a brother, Donald (Jean) Preston of Palm Harbor, FL and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two daughters, Susan C. Bliss, Barbara Jean Smith, three sisters, Doris Zorn, Helen Gallmann, Dorothy Papke, two brothers, Robert Preston and Frank Preston.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Fillmore, N.Y. Joel Stroud, Pastor of the Hume Baptist Church, will officiate.
