Teresa Anne Mayer

September 11, 1979 — October 10, 2021

Canaseraga

Canaseraga --- Teresa Anne Mayer, 42, of Canaseraga passed away on October 10, 2021 in her home.  She was born on September 11, 1979 in Warsaw, a daughter of the late Donna Cardone Almeter and is survived by her father David (Cheryl) Mayer of Pike.

She graduated from Attica High School in 1998. Afterwards, she began working for the University of Rochester as a Call Center Operator for 2 years. In order to pursue a life that more closely resembled Christ, she left her job to begin a new path as a missionary for St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy in Buffalo.  She spent 8 years with them spending most of her time driving people, who were trying to get a new start on life, to interviews and to their new jobs until they could be self-sufficient. While driving people around, she was involved in a car accident which left her with chronic back pain for the remainder of her life. After she left her ministry there, she spent the rest of her days at home coping with the pain of her injuries and helping to take care of her mother and the house.

Her biggest passion was serving God. This included her time as a missionary, her devotion to adoration every week at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and spending much of her time in prayer. Her next biggest passion was music. She played percussion for the Attica High School marching band, the Voices of Mercy at St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, and several local bands. She later learned to play guitar and wrote several songs about her love of God. Lastly, in her free time, she also enjoyed drawing, video games, and spending time with friends and family.

All of those that knew her or met her for the first time soon realized how amazing of a person she was. She was extremely humble and could turn every situation into a time you would have a hard time forgetting due to her laugh, fun personality, and kind heart.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her siblings, Kurt (April) Mayer of Fresno, CA, Fr. Cory Mayer of Grove City, FL, Jessie Almeter of Saratoga Springs, Jason Kaszynski (Jesica) of Hornell Steve (Lindsey) Kaszynski of Fillmore, and Nathan (Crystal) Mayer of Bliss, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her mother Donna Cardone Almeter, she was predeceased by her nephews, Anthony Mayer and Michael Croy.
