Viola H. (Howden) Sweet

Portageville---Viola H. Sweet of 11795 Wiscoy Road died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in her home. She was born on September 22, 1931 in the Town of Granger, a daughter of the late Allen and Agnes Stocking Howden and was raised by Forrest and Mildred Loughlin. In 1951 she married Robert Sweet who survives.

Vi enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball and playing cards. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Castile and the Retired Teachers Association.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Mark (Terry) Sweet of Portageville, two grandchildren Amanda Myers and Derek Sweet, two great grandchildren, Maddalin and Zander Myers and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Leon J. Howden and Bernard E. Howden and a sister, Mildred Goodrich.

Family and friends may gather at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 North Genesee Street, Fillmore, on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Pastors Harrison Putnam and Clyde Embling will co-officiate. Burial will be in the East Koy Cemetery.
