Centerville ---Virginia Fraschetti (Markowski), 84, formerly of Centerville, passed away on June 7, 2024, in Franklin, Indiana. She was born on June 6, 1940. She married James Fraschetti who predeceased her on June 22, 2018.
Spending most of her time as a housewife, Virginia, in her youth, trained for nursing, and was known as a great caregiver to the elderly and many others. She loved gardening, books, and writing, and had many interests, being especially known for her professional-grade needlework, especially cross-stich.
Virginia had a deep sympathy for underprivileged and poor children, raising several, through Christian Foundation for Children and Aging, (now known as Unbound), and contributed generously to other charitable organizations, such as Food for the Poor.
Surviving are her three children, James, Christopher, and Lucy (Fernandez), eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Virginia received a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Greenwood parish, on June 21, 2024. She will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fillmore on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 11:00 am.
Friends and family are encouraged to attend a memorial meal at the Higgins Wesleyan Church Pavilion from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, participants are encouraged to honor Virginia's life by making a donation, in her name, to a charity that assists poor and underprivileged children.
