Rushford --- Warren H. Pomeroy, a dedicated member of the community, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 27, 2026, at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville. He was born on March 12, 1936, in Rushford in the family home, a son of the late Marvin and Myrtle Jones Pomeroy Sr. He married Judith Black who predeceased him. Warren was well-known as the owner and operator of Pomeroy Brothers and operated the old family sawmill both of which had a significant contribution to many buildings throughout Rushford. Warren personally graded the Buffalo Airport runway, showcasing his expertise as a heavy equipment operator. His career reflected his commitment to craftsmanship and service, helping to shape the infrastructure of his community.

In addition to his professional contributions, Warren's various roles in public service marked him as a dedicated citizen. His hobbies included farming, making maple syrup and raising Angus Beef cattle which his great-nephews Cody and Cyle Pomeroy continue to do to this day. Among his fondest memories was the enjoyment found in peanut butter sandwiches dipped in milk, a testament to his down-to-earth nature.

Warren’s military service in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961 was notable, particularly as a member of the US Army Rifle Team, where he achieved first place numerous times with his BAR rifle.
