FILLMORE – Wayne R. Roberts of 60 Emerald St. Fillmore, left this earthly life to be welcomed by his Lord and Savior, to join loved ones in eternity, Tuesday December 16, 2025) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with his loving family at his side. He was born on August 29, 1937 in Eagle, the son of the late Kenneth and Beulah Laird Roberts Sr. He married Florence Nevinger, who survives.

Wayne was a graduate of Fillmore Central High School. After high school he was employed at the family business, Fillmore Farm Supply, after which he went on to work at Ricketts Farm Supply, then ultimately to a 25+ year career as a Service Representative with New Holland Farm Equipment, Inc. In retirement, among many other endeavors, he spent several years in the produce department at Tops market in Warsaw.

Wayne was a devoted family man, talented mechanic, and avid gardener, giving away much of his harvest from his roadside trailer in Fillmore. Additionally, in the early years he was a Fillmore fire fighter, highway construction worker, logger, and responsible outdoorsman.

Finally, Wayne was a man of strong, quiet faith in God who persevered through many trials and challenges during his life.

In addition to his wife Florence of 67 years, he is survived by three sons; Martin Roberts of Fillmore, Michael (Paula) Roberts of Exton, PA. Mark Roberts of Rochester, two daughters, Melinda (James) Stubley of Apex, NC, Molly (Jeffrey) Mahan of Oneonta, a daughter-in-law, Virginia Roberts of Castile, a brother Kenneth (Judy) Jr. of Port Saint Lucie, FL. Additionally, Wayne was a proud Grandfather and Great grandfather, as well as “Uncle Wayne” to many nieces and nephews… And last but not least, his walking partner Pug Dog “Bella”.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Matthew Roberts and a brother, David Roberts.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM; burial to immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fillmore. Pastor Paul Shea will officiate.
