Short Tract --- Anne Higbie Voss of 10146 County Road 15 passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, in Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw after a brief stay in the Houghton Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility. She was born on May 21, 1926, in Hornellsville, a daughter of the late Alexander and Dorothy Binns Remsen. She married Everett E. “Jack” Voss who predeceased her on November 22, 2008.
Anne was a graduate of Wilson High School in Angelica and later worked at the knitting mill in Fillmore until its closure. Anne had a deep love for the outdoors and embraced her farming roots. She found joy in tending to her garden, feeding the birds and growing beautiful flowers. She learned farming from her father and homemaking from her mother. Anne’s dedication to self-sufficiency was evident through raising chickens, rabbits and preserving the bountiful produce from her garden. She also had a passion for reading and enjoyed losing herself in a good book.
Known for her sociable nature, Anne had a delightful sense of humor and loved making jokes. Family was important to her, and she maintained close relationships with her six siblings, despite the distance that separated them.
Surviving are her daughters, Rebecca (William) Turinic of Florida, Jane (Larry) Koerner of Portageville, three grandchildren, Randy (Rebecca) Johnson, Luke (Kristina) Johnson, Tracey (Nicolas) Cseke, eight great-grandchildren, Anna, Adam, Troy, Lily and Jack Johnson, Abigail and Madison Johnson and Benjamin Cseke, a sister, Dorothy Remsberg of Michigan, a brother, Stephen (Katherine) Remsen of Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
