Short Tract --- Bernard Willis Brandt of 5387 Klein Road passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 in Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home, Perry. He was born on September 7, 1939 in Lockport, a son of the late Howard and Beatrice Thorsby Brandt. On October 30, 2005 in the Sun Valley Campsite he married Linda Beardsley who survives.

Bernard was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1963 to 1965 and was a former welder for GM in Lockport.

He loved all types of animals but especially was fond of horses, dogs and cats. He also enjoyed working on cars and tractors.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Eric Brandt of Middleport, Lisa Brandt of Ft. Myers, FL, his step-children, James (Laura Cannioto) Nusbickel of Fillmore, Jill (Steve) Pepe of Swain, Sam Nusbickel of Portageville, Dan (Tiffany) Nusbickel of Short Tract, two sisters, Juanita Boyer of Newfane, Susie Stolzenberg of Florida, a brother, Tom Brandt of Ft. Myers, FL and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a step-son, Charles “Chuck” Andrew Nusbickel on May 30, 2022.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the Short Tract Fire Hall. Pastor Sam Wolcott will officiate. Military Honors accorded by the D Victor Thomas American Legion Post 1155 of Fillmore.
