Wiscoy --- Betty J. Rakoska of 6084 Mechanic Street passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022 in Roswell Park Cancer institute, Buffalo. She was born on November 11, 1950 in Fillmore, a daughter of the late Francis and Margaret Eldridge Mishic. On June 28, 1969 in the Wiscoy Baptist Church she married Gordon Rakoska who survives.
Betty was a member of the Eastern Star of Fillmore and the NRA. She enjoyed going on walks, reading, gardening, traveling and riding motorcycle.
Surviving in addition to her husband is their son, Michael Rakoska of Olean, two grandchildren, Burgandi Rakoska of Leeds, England and Brennan Rakoska of Rochester, two sisters, Fran (Douglas) Tuttle of Fillmore, Lynda (Ed) Ess of Batavia, a sister-in-law, Judy Rakoska of Nunda and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Frederick “Fritz” Rakoska, two aunts, Jean Perry and Lois Fiegl.
Family and friends may gather from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00 am. Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of the Higgins Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wiscoy Cemetery, Wiscoy.
