Donna Nevinger Obituary

Hume --- Donna A. Nevinger of 7045 Wells Avenue passed away on Saturday, November 4. 2023 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1932, in Centerville, a daughter of the late Gordon and Maxine Wilkow Thomas. On November 9, 1951, she married L. Merrill Nevinger who survives.

Donna was a former employee at the Perry Knitting Mill and spent 17 years as a teacher’s aide for the 1st grade at Fillmore Central School with Rose Marie Kleinspehn. Many former students came up to her years later and said if she hadn’t helped them, they would have never made it. Donna always treasured her students.

She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma and great grandma to us all and she was loved by many.

Surviving in addition to her husband are their children, Sharon Ricotta of Perry, Randy (Barb) Nevinger of Hume, Rick (Susan) Nevinger of Jacksonville, FL, Ron (Bobbie) Nevinger of Bradenton, FL, her grandchildren, Tony (Cindy) Ricotta, Nikki (Matt) Jones, Tim Nevinger, Ryan (Justine) Nevinger, Thom (Emily) Nevinger, Taylor (Karter) Button, Mike (Carly) Nevinger, Molly (Dylan) Peck, McKenna (Josh Davis) Williams, her great-grandchildren, Nico, Luca, Ariadne, Zach, Dylan (Brandi Klatt), Grant, Jake (Haley Walt), Owen, Beau, Chloe, Max, Quinn, Brooks, Kelsey, Cole, Harper, her sister, Joan (Gordie) Woodworth, two brothers-in-law, Gary (Jean) Nevinger, Tim (Kay) Nevinger, three sisters-in-law, Bonnie Sylor, Florence (Wayne) Roberts, Donna Sue (Carl) Testerman and many nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Joanne Jones and Katelyn Cirbus for their wonderful care.

We would like to thank our granddaughter, daughter and niece, Nikki, for going above and beyond to take special care of Grandma and Grandpa. She was always right there for them and all of us to help in anyway she can. This thank you does not even cover what love and appreciation we have for her.  She is always ready to help everyone anytime they need it. She has the biggest HEART ever! We appreciate everything you do for all of us! We love & adore you, Nikki!

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Peter Ricotta, a brother, Gordon Dee Thomas, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Thomas, two brothers-in-law, Al Sylor and Tom Nevinger.
