Dorothy Beardsley Obituary
Bolivar---Dorothy A. Beardsley a former resident of Rossburg and Wiscoy, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Highland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Wellsville. She was born on May 3, 1928 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Otto and Alice Ayer Schlicht. She married Clifford H. Beardsley who predeceased her in 2007.
Dorothy was the former postmaster of the Rossburg and Hume Post offices for 25 years. She was a member of the former Hume Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her children, Dave (Candy) Beardsley of Rochester, Christina (Dave) Evans of Bolivar, Craig Beardsley of East Bethany, five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Sherry (Durwin) Durnion of Churchville, a special friend, Gail McLaughlin of Tavares, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by, two brothers, Kenneth and Richard Schlicht.
A private funeral service will be held at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore. Rev. Bruce Smith, pastor of the Higgins Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
