Rushford --- James Wesley “Jim” Austin of 9707 Brookside Road died un-expectantly Saturday, May 30, 2015 in his home on the family farm. He was born on November 4, 1957 in Cuba, a son of Wesley and Norma Springer Austin. On May 29, 2004 in Rushford he married Frieda Smith who survives.
Jim attended Rushford and Fillmore Central Schools. He was an employee of Quality Park in Orchard Park.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, gardening, farming, tinkering on the farm, and most of all his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife are his children, Brenda (Justin) Eddy of Alliance, OH, Wesley (Andrea) Austin Jr. of Richmond, VA, Julie (Chris) Bastian of East Rochester, OH, four granddaughters, Kayla, Elexxa, Emily E., Emily B., seven grandsons, Anthony, Matthew, Christopher, Andrew, Ethan, Grayson, Garrison, two great-grandchildren, Jalynne, Aubri, a sister, Cynthia (Charles) McCullough of Belmont, a brother, Michael (Linda) Austin of Whiteford, MD, a niece Monica (Tom Kicior) McCullough of Rochester, three step-children, Richard (Tasha) Hillyard of Galeton, PA, Raleigh (Joesie) Hillyard of Galeton, PA, Jodi Hall of Richmond, VA, four aunts, Ollie Seiber, Marge (Kevin) Quealy, Diann Springer, Kathy (Tom) Worthington and an uncle, Jack Springer.
Jim is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Leslie and Norma Springer, his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Bertha Owens Austin, an aunt, Ernestine McFarland Wybrew and an uncle, Edward Austin.
Family and friends may gather from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee Street, Fillmore where a funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Bob Schooley will officiate. A private graveside service will be in Freedom Cemetery, Freedom
