Centerville --- James Dean Mowers of 8935 County Road 3 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on his birthday, Thursday, October 14, 2021 in Olean General Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born on October 14, 1937 in Hornell, a son of the late Dean and Nicoli Caprarulo Mowers. On August 11, 1956 in St. Patrick’s Church in Fillmore he married Darlene Williams who survives.
Jim was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Fillmore where he was a lector for 40 years. He was a former tool and die maker for Motorola in Arcade and Fisher Price in Holland.
He was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, wood worker and gun collector. Jim also was a former little league coach for Fillmore.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Devara Conley of Centerville, three granddaughters, Lacy (Adam Malone) Conley, Gina (Jesse) Maltby, Alicia (Joe Ferguson) McPhee, a grandson, James Ward, three great-grandchildren, Lucian McPhee, Jason Maltby, Kylie Gilmore, two sisters, Carol Mowers of Syracuse, Janice Tripp of Rochester, his loving dog, Ike and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Bonnie Buckley on November 4, 2016.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick’s Church, Fillmore. Fr. Dennis JJ Mancuso will be celebrant. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery, Centerville.
