Pike --- June Burger Duffy a former resident of Pike and Angelica passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023 in the Wyoming County Community Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility, Warsaw. She was born on February 1, 1929 in Dalton, a daughter of the late Lester and Grace Smith Young. She was married for 22 years to Allen Burger who predeceased her. Later she remarried for 43 years to James Duffy who predeceased her.
June was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Hunt Stout Post 1670 of Pike. She loved crocheting, knitting and her little dogs but most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Patricia (Wendell) Shattuck of Gainesville, Wayne Burger of Fillmore, Dale Burger of Florida, Keith Burger of Indiana, Karen (Jeff) Evans of Florida, Debra (Larry) Brisbee of Scio, 14 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her two husbands she was predeceased by a son, Gordon Burger and a daughter-in-law, Pat Burger.
A private funeral service will be held at the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N Genesee Street, Fillmore. Joel Stroud, pastor of the Hume Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Alger Cemetery, Fillmore.
