Town of Grove --- Lorelei Zimmerman Ketter a former resident of the Town of Grove died Friday, August 14, 2020 in ECMC, Buffalo. She was born on October 1, 1928, she was the beloved partner to Harry Luther Seifert. Earlier in her life, Lolly married Robert Lewis Ketter on Dec. 22, 1948 for 40 years until his passing in April 1989.
Lolly worked tirelessly with Robert during his years at the University of Buffalo. She was known for a sense of adventure, love of travel, endless hospitality, and impressive cooking skills — second only to her love of water color painting.
Never one to live a boring life, she learned to drive at age 60 after Robert’s passing, then moved on to get her pilot’s license to be able to view her farm from the sky.
Harry and Lolly had a very active social life, and were seen frequently at restaurants, yard sales, and historic venues around Le Roy, and their home.
Lolly is survived by her daughters, Katheryn (Rev. Gary Nottis), Susannah, Mary (William Franklin).
She was predeceased by her son, Michael (Regina).
She followed both her children and grandchildren’s careers vicariously, and embraced joyfully all their successes. Her grandchildren’s artwork, awards and honors covered her walls, known as the “Family Gallery.”
Dear to her heart were the many friends that she and Harry made. Rare was a day not filled with their company.
Forever helpful, forever needed, and forever loved as family and her dear friends, Mark and Sue, who have been an important part of Lolly and Harry’s lives.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11 am in Sunnyview Cemetery, Town of Grove. Rev. Gary N. Nottis will officiate.
Lolly was an avid supporter of Historical Society of Le Roy Memorial Garden, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Genesee Country Village, where many of her antiques found their home, and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. If desired, donations may be made to one of these organizations in Lorelei’s name.
