Selkirk --- It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Myrna J. DeSarno, who left us peacefully on March 18, 2024, at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. Born to Charles and Clara Agnes Lounsbury Brown on November 17, 1931, in the Town of Humphrey, Myrna's journey was one of love, learning, and legacy.
Myrna's academic and professional paths led her from Rushford Central School ('50) to the Rochester Business Institute ('52), and eventually to fulfilling roles at Motorola in Arcade and Council 82 in Albany. Beyond her professional achievements, she was passionate about dancing, solving puzzles, and, most significantly, cherishing moments with her children and grandchildren.
Myrna's life was filled with adventures, traveling most recently with Kurt, Cynthia, and Frances, as an unparalleled copilot. Her love for board and card games, especially Spinner, brought joy to all who would take her on including her grandchildren playing long into the night.
She leaves behind a loving family: daughters Cynthia (Kurt Lozier) Eichelman of Loudonville, Frances Gransbury of Selkirk, four grandchildren, Abigale (Cameron) Proctor of Falls Church, VA, Ethan Eichelman (Cameron Rosen) of Albany, Kale Gransbury (JJ Hilario) of Selkirk, Kaden (Fiancé Hannah Rivers) Gransbury of Castleton, VT, two step-grandsons, Jared Lozier of Mechanicville, Aaron (Elizabeth) Lozier of Troy, four great-grandchildren - most recently, Emma Grace Gransbury, a brother-in-law, Francis (Judy Hodnett) Green of Centerville and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Keith Gransbury Jr., her siblings and their spouses, Sylvester Charles and Joann Brown, Marion and David Morgan, Walter and Joyce Brown, Margaret and Robert Duvall and Maureen Green.
