Short Tract---Garold ″Gary″ Prentice of Short Tract, died Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Wyoming County Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born on February 3, 1947 in the Town of Hume, a son of the late Clifford and Eula Worden Prentice.

 

Gary was a United States Army veteran serving from 1967 to 1969 and was a graduate of Fillmore Central School and was a former employee of American Rock Salt in Mt. Morris.

 

Gary enjoyed watching NASCAR, hunting, helping people and was a tinkerer.

 

Surviving is a daughter, Jackie (Fritz) Lange of Webster, two grandchildren, Kensington and Escher, his brothers and sisters, Ethel (Herbert) Wagner of Angelica, Beatrice Scott of Houghton, Bernice Butler of Buffalo, , Robert (Nancy) Prentice of Great Valley, Charles Prentice of Angelica, Shirley (Dean) Buchinger of Edgewater, FL., thirty two nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Louis “Jim” Prentice and Gerald “Jerry” Prentice.

 

A graveside service will be held in Short Tract Cemetery on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.

Gary was a true friend that we always had a good time with. He was loving, kind and would do anything for anyone. He will be missed by all.
